Hello Fellow Athletic Trainers,
It is time to recharge, to re-light your flame for your profession. Take this time to look at all of the effort you have put into what you do. I think you will be surprised in the amount of contacts and the number of people you have influenced. It is amazing to look back and just reflect for a few minutes this helps us see where we have been and where we are going. On a personal note, I want to thank all of you for your support this last spring, your love and caring is the reason I and excited about starting this fall.
If you are new to our state or you are just new to our profession, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you. I can honestly say that you are in the best state for Athletic Trainers. I would also like to invite you to be active in your state association, we may not be the biggest but I can point out the fact we are activity involved in the profession of Athletic Training.
If you have not looked in your mail lately, you will find a reminder of your licensure. This renewal can be done online by visiting the link above. You may also request a paper renewal, wither way you go please be sure to have your renewal done by August 30. This will ensure that you have met the standards and requirements for your licensure. (failure to do so will result in your licensure being revoked and you will have to re-apply.)
Take this time to call your local and state representatives and educate them on what you do, make yourself known to your legislators. Stay actively involved in your district and national association. Keep up with your association, by signing up for your NPI, and sending letters to your national legislators.
I will also take this time to thank you for your hard work with this association and remind you that we will have the district symposium in Albuquerque, in April of 2011. You will get more information as it approaches. If you did not make the state meeting in Las Cruces, well we had a great time learned a lot and just so you know we missed you.
Take this time and reenergize, and re-vitalize.
Remember, if you have questions or comments, contact a member of the board and we will find the answer you are looking for. Or if you just want to talk we are here for you. Good luck in the upcoming Fall Seasons.
Respectfully,
Timothy Acklin ATC, LAT
NMATA, President
